Girls Can't Catch

This is the debut release of Girls Can't Catch, "Keep Your Head Up" . The girls said in an interview recently that they believe that Pop is coming back, and that they are determined to make their mark. Even though they are a Pop group they believe they are offering something different.

Wonder Girls

Wonder Girls form korea have caught my attention with a range of catchy songs, regardless of the fact that the song is in korean i really enjoy them. Not to mention tha dance moves ^^

You can just imagine these girls ripping up the dance floor at a party, all eyes on them, with a pop sound somewhat mixed with a disco elctro sound, and some Korean rap to fill the gaps.

Tahiti 80

So.. i have been busy lately But i have found something i think you guys will like they are called Tahiti 80, from Rouen, France. They have an indie pop sound, and sing in english which caught my attention.

Helena Arlock

Helena Arlock from sweden has one of the prettiest voices i have ever heard. Described as pop / indie / alternative her voice is put to good use as a combination of all that nice, different, cool, abstract and everything in between.

Melody Gardot

Melody Gardot, from the US, has adopted a soud that i have not heard for quite a while. It is a sound that reminds me of a 40's or 50's film. Its something that no one really tries to produce anymore which is a shame because it is such a beutiful sound and if possible i would like to encourage everybody to listen to because its one of those styles that everyone can associate with at least one point in their life

"Are :n: EL", a group from the UK currently consisting of Rozie Gyems and Leon Cave. Their sound, has a brilliant soul / funk / rock feel. I found them just before posting and i think they are awesome.

By "The Bodyrockers", this song reached #3 in the UK and #12 in Australia. It was released in 2005 and was their first major success. Originally Kaz James (AUS) would DJ while Dylan Burns (UK) would sing, but with Kaz starting out on a solo career, it will be interesting to see what they do next.

Stone Parade, Formed in 2003, having been slowly building their fan base with songs that draw out the essence of feelings everyone can relate to. The band has been categorised as rock and alternative rock, as they swap between the two depending on the mood of the song. This Aussie boy has traveled the world with some guitars, some drums and a set of didgeridoos. He has been said to be a Black fella in a White fellas body, This coming from the Aboriginal people means a lot about his charater. His music moves and changes with emotion, often following a very down to earth style. His infuences seem to be mostly blues and roots and folk.

By a band called Air Supply. This Duo consisted of Graham Russell from the UK and Russell Hitchcock From Australia. These Guys Hit their peak in the 80s and have steadily been producing to this day. Their Sound is very clear, They define the voice over anything else and accompany that with nice simple piano playing. They made many love ballads and  i think "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" is very Representative of their sound

Kato

On my travels through Myspace i was added by an Artist called Kato. I visited his profile and found that he described himself as being "Emo/hip hop/pop" i thought it was a very interesting combination so i listened on, and what i found was a very interesting combination of styles. Now to be critical, i found the lyrics to be dry and meaningless, and the rapping a tad monotonous, but in combination with the backing tracks and the back up vocals he produces a sound that i rarely hear. 

So go listen @ Kato Myspace

I think you will like him also and i hope that eventually he will develop a style that can capture a moment of emotion or express the true Kato. This one will be interesting to watch 

Everything I'm Not

The Veronicas, a Brisbane (Australia) duo, released "Everything I'm not" in 2005. The Veronicas produce a pop rock sound, but stands out because of the excelent vocal work. Have a listen to both released and acoustic version, if you are like me you will love them both.

The Cat Empire, is a very alternative band picking up influences from a variety of genres such as jazz, funk, rock, gypsy and reggae. This guitarist, raised in Portland, Oregon, USA,  started playing guitar at the age of 12. At that young age he learned country and folk songs while playing not only guitar but piano and drums with his father. After the birth of his daughter in 1990, Kelly started to write. and in 1994 resleased his first album "lead on me". Noted not only for his music, Kelly was originally noticed with his impressive lap style slide guitar technique.

Kenji - Recorded by Fort Minor, Released on the 22nd of November 05. The track is a story about the gradfather of Mike Shinoda (the rapper more well know for his work with Linkin Park). The story depicts times uncertanty, struggle and racism During World War 2. Mikes grandfather was a first generation American imigrant from japan. After. Mike included interviews and Recordings of his father and aunt and their recolection of the events that occured.

Here are some lyrics that depict the situation of the time

This song with its heart felt and meanful lyrics tugs at the heart strings, and will have you tears by the end. One key to understand the song completely is to listen to the lyrics and the interviews carefully. Togerther with a simple backbeat and guitar later bringing into the brackground a strings section and keyboard (most likely on a choral setting).

Listen to the song a few times and take in the words and what they mean it is truely amazing, and has been conveyed so well

This hit single released by The Potbelleez very adequately represents my life at times, originally released on the 25th of october last year, it has had recent attention and has climbed the ladder for its second wind. This single has potential to be in the top ten, with more air time than ever before and more publicity. The single has hit the australian clubbing scene, which will be sure to drive up sales and push it further towards the top postition, unfortunately on its release the single was overshadowed by the potbelleez previous single "Are you with me" released 4 months prior. "Are you with me"  made top 20 of all charts associated with the song, this included #2 dance track and #3 single.

Can't hold back, the lastest hit to be from Kaz James, featuring Macy gray. Kaz James, originally from The Body Rockers, recently made a break for a solo career which is progressively getting better. Macy Gray coming from her newest album "The Gray Life" brings a very distinct sound into the mix. The two bring together a very traditional dance track, building a base for many great remixes to which only time will tell
